Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) Stewards have issued two charges against licensed trainer Julie Douglas under Australian Harness Racing Rules (AHRR) 190(1).

AHRR 190(1) states:

A horse shall be presented for a race free of prohibited substances.

It is alleged that Ms Douglas presented the horse ‘Whata Journey’ to race at the Tabcorp Park Melton harness racing meeting on 17 December 2021, not free of the prohibited substances Atenolol, Chlorothiazide, Hydrochlorothiazide and O-Desmethylvenlafaxine.

It is further alleged that Ms Douglas presented the horse ‘Whata Journey’ to race at the Kilmore harness racing meeting on 3 February 2022, not free of the prohibited substances Chlorothiazide and Hydrochlorothiazide.

The charges will be heard by the Victoria Racing Tribunal on a date to be fixed.
