Harness Racing Victoria's 2021-22 licences have opened for renewals.

Licensees are reminded, in accordance with AHRR 91 (1), a person shall not carry on an activity regulated by licence if that person is not the holder of a current licence.

HRV are encouraging all licenced participants to renew their licence online, with $20 off the normal licence fee for any trainer and driver that renews their licence online before September 1.

To complete an online licence renewal, all licensees must have a Harnessweb account. To sign up to Harnessweb all licencees must have an email address.

Licensees with an existing Harnessweb account will receive their licence renewal via email, while licensees without a Harnessweb account will receive their licence renewal via mail. Blank licence renewals will also be available for download off HRV's website thetrots.com.au

A reminder to all drivers that you must complete your Betting Declaration and Medical Examination forms before the start of the new season on September 1. Any forms not submitted by this date will put your licence on hold until they are received.

Though the racing season has moved to a January 1 start, the annual licensing period will remain unchanged and licences will continue to be issued from September 1 to August 31 each year.

The decision was made to avoid:

  • Difficulties that drivers may face attempting to obtain a medical in the lead-up to the Christmas/New Year period
  • Potential delays in HRV receiving posted licence applications or medicals due to public holidays and mail delays due to the Christmas/New Year period
  • The heavy racing calendar in the lead up to December 31

All licensed participants are required to complete the Equine Welfare Framework online training program. For details click here.
