To ensure consistency with the broadcast product and maintain a high level of professionalism, Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) Stewards remind all drivers and trainers of their obligations regarding the driving colours worn in races.

In accordance with the Australian Harness Racing Rules (AHRR), trainers are reminded that the colours allocated at driver declaration time must be the colours worn by drivers during the race.

When multiple horses with the same set of colours are engaged in a race the following order will be applied at driver declaration time based on saddlecloth order:

  • Alternative owner / trainer colours
  • Drivers colours
  • Club colours

Please note, multiple horses cannot race in a duplicate set of colours in the same race, they must be an alternative set of colours with a distinct variation (i.e. inverse pattern, sleeve colour, etc.)

Should connections wish to advise of colours to be allocated to specified runners in a race they can do so via HarnessWeb (same method as driver change) or contact the HRV Racing Office via phone or email by driver declaration time for the relevant meeting
