The Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) Stewards advise all industry stakeholders of a change to the process in lifting the ‘out of the draw’ status and reincluding a horse in the barrier draw. This change will be effective from 1 February 2021.
Previous practice required a trainer or authorised representative to sign the ‘Horse OD Record’ prior to the horse trialling or racing for the horse to be considered for reinclusion in the barrier draw.
Effective from 1 February 2021, trainers will no longer be required to sign the ‘Horse OD Record’ to have a horse considered for reinclusion in the barrier draw.
All horses will be reincluded into the barrier draw should they perform satisfactorily in two consecutive races and/or trials unless the trainer or authorised representative requests otherwise.
Should a trainer wish for a horse to remain out of the draw they must notify the Stewards officiating at the trials or race meeting.
